Top 3 Ways To Click Amazing Wedding Photos at Wedding

Keep Searching For Opportunities

As you know the importance of clicking candids at weddings, as a photographer you should be always alert so that no opportunity is missed. Be observant, and always ready to click whenever something interesting happens. For that, roam around the places with your camera at hand even after the main wedding events are over. Check if the battery charge and memory card space are okay enough to click those extra shots. Also, enable the Aperture Priority Mode so that you do not need to think about the exposure.

Be Cautious About The Settings

When you are clicking candids, you need to be always ready with your camera settings to click at any moment. You can’t afford to attain the perfect camera settings at the cost of missed candid opportunities. To get the perfect settings at the right moment, you need to acquire a thorough knowledge of each of the settings and practice a lot with manual settings. You can also try semi-automatic modes if you are not confident about manually controlling all the settings. Alternatively, you can set some common settings. For example, set the shutter speed at more than 1/100s. If you are clicking a moving subject it should be much higher, around 1/500s. Try to use a wide aperture so that it creates a bokeh effect, keeping only the subject in focus. It will make a dreamy effect, complementing the atmosphere of the event. If the wedding function is organized indoors, increase ISO to around 800. If you feel it is not enough, you can increase it to even higher, but keep in mind that it will make your photos grainy. Always shoot in RAW Format, so that you can leave enough room for editing. To be really quick with changing the settings, practice it separately when you are not shooting.

Shoot With A Telephoto Zoom Lens

When you are clicking candids, the last thing you would want is to use a shorter lens, get close to the subject, make the person aware, and ruin the opportunity. So, go for a telephoto lens instead. You can even use a 100-400mm lens, and it will yield good results. You will be able to click the vivid expressions and activities without letting anybody know about it. However, do not leave your shorter lens completely. You will not just click candids in the entire event, these lenses will help you in clicking wide shots.
