There isn’t anything that women can’t do. And for that, we have picked up our favorite female photographers of all time! These female photographers are A PRO at what they do, and belong to INDIA! Imagine! 

These women have mastered portraying stories and untold emotions through pictures. These women have had some inspiring and motivating stories and have been transforming the attitudes, lives, and perceptions of everyone they come across off. 

So without any further ado, let us jump onto our list of our favorite women photographers in India!

Female photographers in India: 

Arati Kumar Rao:

Arati specializes in the environment. She speaks for South Asian people along the riverside. She focuses on the stories of the rivers that have been degraded by the activities of people. 

She shows glimpses of violence situated on people who are situated on riverbanks. She hopes to have people pay attention to the curses the reduced quality of water bodies results in for people and the ecosystems.

Prarthna Singh:

Another famous female photographer is focused on everyday life. She works around the everyday reality of her subjects. She uses natural light as the main element in her pictures. Her main focus is the audiences’ engagement moves from observation to participation.

Vinita Barretto:

She specializes in the black and white monochrome photography genre of daily joys in life. Like kids playing football, animals in their usual habitat, or people on the go.

Soumya Iyer:

She is one female photographer who masters color photography and uses the subtle language of art to add the essence of fashion and culture. She is indulged in portrait photography and focuses on her subjects being comfortable in their skin. She brings out the character of her subjects easily. Paromita Chatterjee:

When she was in her early days she had documented the elections held at the Lok Sabha in Varanasi. She had emerged as an artist at an early age.

One of her images included a woman who had lost her child due to malnutrition faced at the time of the epidemic in her village. She realized it was through people like her and the media that people like that woman hope to be helped. 

She wanted to capture the suffering of people. She is determined to bring a change socially and release people from their suffering.
