5 Superior Trends On How To Make Your Polaroid Pictures Better!

Are you an analog photography fanatic too? Well, to get the best out of the practice process and experiments, you should try polaroid photography.  There are many ways you can use your instant camera. Mainly if you are stuck at home during the pandemic, or are just dealing with a creative block.

Ways to make your polaroid pictures better than usual:

The art of manipulation:

Polaroid pictures can be made the best version of themselves by manipulating the audience’s actions. Try creating fun doodles using a blunt tool.  As soon as the polaroid is ready apply little pressure on our image with the end of the brush and doodle to add texture. Remember to be gentle or your image will get damaged. 

Another idea would be to create texture on the empty spaces on your polaroid picture. You can place your polaroid on a rough surface like sandpaper and lightly swirl the brush on it. 

The transparent effect:

Now, if you remember photo diaries, your polaroid pictures can help you create a great look. All you need is a developed polaroid picture and cut it with a knife on the sides and the bottom.  Gently remove the flap near the bottom to create a perfectly transparent polaroid picture! Now to curate a double exposure look you can place the transparent one over the second developed copy. 

Make it vintage:

To create a vintage look on your polaroid pictures you can use the emulsion lift technique. All you need is a tray full of water, watercolor sheets, and a tiny paintbrush. Start cutting the polaroid picture and peel the image off. After that, dip it in the water tray to have a floating image. You will need to separate the image from the layer it is attached to using a tiny soft brush. 

The last step is to put the sheet over the image to create a vintage look! Don’t forget to dry it and keep it away from sunlight. 


Show your Polaroid picture off:

Well, this does not mean that you expose them directly to sunlight. However, feel free to shoot the landscape effect for your polaroid depending upon the weather. Along with this, to keep up the damaged look, shake the polaroid to create it. Or put it in a sunny place. 

Unusually safe chemicals to create effects on polaroid pictures:

To start this technique it is advised to use your not-so-favorite polaroid pictures. For this, pick one image from your stack and soak it in different kinds of chemical or non-chemical liquids around your house. All these liquids together will have you create a chemically bruised image effect.
