If you are a budding newborn photographer, you must do a lot of brainstorming to find the right prop. While the market is flooded with baby photography props, as a responsible newborn photographer, you should only use the safest ones. Some photographers think about using photoshop and avoid using props as much as possible. But you don't have to go that far. Certain newborn photography props are not only safe but also very effective in increasing the cuteness factor of the photos. This article discusses four useful newborn photography props.

The newborns sleep most of the time, you can click their cute photos by clicking their photos with headbands without waking them up. An attractive headband on the tiny head makes the job of the photographer much easier by grabbing the attention of the audience instantly.  Choose the appropriate size to make the baby comfortable. Do not forget to check the material before using it. 

Baskets

 

If you are a beginner, it can be an easy prop to start with because you can create wonders with it, even if you have limited expertise. It frees you from the difficulties associated with positioning the child correctly without troubling them. You just need to put the basket on a nice background, place a colorful blanket or towel in it, and keep the baby inside the basket. Click as per your wish and it's done! Make sure the baby is comfortable in the basket. It should be sturdy too. Instead of a basket, you can also use a crate or box in the same way.

Blankets can serve multiple purposes in newborn photography. If you are an absolute beginner and want to click sweet photos with the least amount of experimentation, just wrap the baby in a nice-looking blanket and start shooting. If you want to create a particular scene or follow a certain theme in the photo shoot, blankets can be an important element. Make sure the material of the blanket is not causing itching on the baby's skin. It should also be washed before the shoot, with an unscented detergent so that the baby does not get uncomfortable. 

Mom's Hands

 

 

The photo of a baby in a mother's hands doesn't need any captions. Nothing can be a cozier place for a child than places that the mother's hands. The best part is, that this prop comes free! Ask the mother to hold the baby, and zoom in to click only the child covered by the mom's hands. You can also include the father's hand, and create a circle around the child with their hands. You can try this out with the sibling's hands too. But in this case, put the child in a safe place, and ask the big brother or sister to place their hands around it. Otherwise, it would be risky to ask a toddler to hold a baby for a shoot.
