Opt For Cotton Cloths

Avoid synthetic materials like polyester or nylon.

Wear Full-sleeve Clothes

Though this tip may sound strange to you, try to wear full sleeves even in hot weather when you are shooting in forests. The more covered your body is, the more protected you are from insect bite which is common in jungles. You will also be able to avoid small injuries when you wear fully covering clothes. It also helps to hide in the surroundings, and avoid making your subject aware of your presence. You can also purchase clothes with built-in UV protection that are specially made for outdoor photography. Do not avoid applying sunscreen though. Just make sure it does not leak and spoil the gear in your bag. Don’t forget to wear a cap. Keep an insect net hat handy too, you will need it if you find the location insect-prone.

Choose The Right Footwear

Your shoes must be sturdy and have a strong grip. However warm the climate is, try to wear woolen clothes because it soaks up the sweat so that your feet remain dry and cool. Do not opt for any fancy footwear when you are shooting in the wild.

Know The Right Colors To Wear

Try wearing colors that will help you to camouflage with the surroundings. That is why green is the most commonly worn color among wildlife photographers. Remember that your choice of color of clothing determines the success of your wildlife photography to a large extent. The more you can hide your presence from your subject, the more the chances of getting good photos. Some animals and birds have so great eyesight that they would recognize you even before you can see them. So, if possible, choose the color of the camera bag and covers of gear according to your cloth color too.

Conclusion

Wildlife photography is a tough genre in itself. So, you should avoid unnecessary complications that arise when you wear the wrong outfit. Following the tips mentioned above, you can increase your chance of clicking great photos each time you shoot.
