If the journey is planned, why not the photos?

A good photograph is not an accident but repeated efforts and constant hits and trials of getting that perfect shot. While choosing the location, you need to envision the type of picture you would want to click on your trip and plan accordingly. Keep these crucial pointers in your mind:

  • The best time of light
  • The distance you need to cover between the photography spot and the place where you're staying. It's ideal to leave at least an hour prior to the best time so you can check the surroundings accordingly and make amends in your plan accordingly.
  • Avoid the time when it's crowded, or perhaps choose the time when it is the most crowded. Solely dependent on the type of photograph you’re aiming for.
  • While the main spot would be photographed, do ensure to have a quick chat with the locals about a place that may not be a tourist attraction but might be an attraction for your lens. Locals are the best people to rely on for some intel about your shoot.

Instead of capturing just the moment, capture the whole journey:

What did you see at the start? Were there any spots that you didn’t imagine would exist? As much as it is better to have a clearly defined roadmap of the pictures you would want, you would also have to be equally open to documenting the journey in between. People may capture the Taj Mahal but would forget to capture the hustle and bustle of Agra, the city where this iconic monument is. You can take a detour to have your creative juices inflow and find inspiration for your best road trip photographs. Perhaps a picture of a random dog that you’ve pet would be a joy and highlight of your road trip than the actual destination. Capture those moments!

Back-up!!!
